Never want to waste summer in Los Angeles before the school starts again for me. Today Tori and I went to downtown LA and West Hollywood to visit photogenic coffee & tea places that people love to post on Instagram.
We started in Verve Coffee in DTLA. I have always been wondering what is colorful liquid in little cups that people always took a picture of, at first I thought it was some kind of tea, turned out it was actually bunch of cold-pressed juice sample. I always love cold-pressed juice from Juice but to be able try 10 others at once is very fascinating and it’s only for $10. The taste is slightly different with what I always drink from the full bottle. My favorite is number 21 and 12.
Tori wanted to move to nicer area because apparently it’s not very comfortable being catcalled along the way as we walking in Downtown LA. So we escaped to West Hollywood, specifically to beautiful Melrose. We visited pretty in pink Alfred Tea Room. I have ever visited the Alfred Coffee before but never been to their tea place – I think I’m more a tea person. They had a lot of tea options which made me feeling very indecisive but I mostly looking at their milk tea options. Finally I just go with my basic favorite drink matcha latte, I was a bit regret knowing that they also have a rose milk tea.

We decided to go explore beautiful Melrose area and checked out some of the designer shops or high-end boutiques. Last time I remember in Singapore where there is a lot of designer shops in Orchard Road or even in Beverly Hills were over crowded with tourist and pedestrians. Somehow hate crowded place but it was pretty calm and nice in Melrose.
Before we leave LA area to go back to Inland Empire, we decided to have some dinner. We were craving for pasta so I was looking on Yelp for the nearest pasta restaurant. We discovered Jon and Vinny’s in Fairfax. We ordered a delicious bruschetta with fresh heirloom tomatoes and basil and homemade fresh tomatoes pasta sauce. It was the best pasta I have ever had and I craved for more already. Comparing to all the pasta I have ever tried from one dollar sign to four dollar sign this one is the best and its pretty affordable as well. One thing I learn, price doesn’t always determined food quality. I think Jon and Vinny’s homemade quality pasta made the difference among pasta restaurants.
Let me know if you know any other cute Coffee & Tea shops or great pasta restaurant! ♡
